Your Gift Makes an Everyday Difference in the Lives of Hospice Patients and Families

Generous gifts to The Community Hospice in the form of memorial gifts, major & corporate gifts, bequests and other philanthropic support, go directly to fund programs and services that are the not reimbursed by Medicare or other insurances.

Services such as complementary therapies, community bereavement, education to the medical community (about the availability of hospice and palliative care services) are vital to the comfort and peace of the thousands of people we care for annually.

Thank you for considering a gift to support our mission and for making the “everyday difference” a reality for so many people in need.

There is a need for support to the African hospices and the people they serve

In a commitment to support the global mission of hospice and palliative care, The Community Hospice is making it possible for donors to contribute to 3 African hospices with which we have informal partnerships: Island Hospice in Zimbabwe, and South Coast Hospice and Tapologo Hospice, both in South Africa. In 1999, The Community Hospice leaders participated with multiple other New York hospices in a joint visit to hospice leaders in South Africa and Zimbabwe. The following year, following a visit from African hospice leaders to The Community Hospice, the Hospice Board approved these informal partnerships. In the past decade, global developments have resulted in significant challenges to our partner hospices, with dire shortfalls in food, medicines, and staff. There is a need for support to the African hospices and the people they serve. In 2024, the partnership enabled funds to install a well and solar panels at South Coast Hospice to render them water and energy independently amidst severe water and energy disruptions.
